DIMAPUR — The Gandhi Shilp Bazar (District) was inaugurated by Y Lipongse Thongtsar, Managing Director, Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd., on Wednesday at Urban Haat, Dimapur.
According to a press release, the exhibition is being organised by the Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. under the sponsorship of the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles.
The event is being held at Urban Haat, Dimapur, from June 3 to the 9th.
It was mentioned that a total of 40 participants, comprising artisans and weavers from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Tripura and various districts of Nagaland, are exhibiting an extensive range of handloom and handicraft products reflecting the region’s cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

The primary objective of the exhibition is to develop and promote sustainable marketing channels in both the domestic and export markets while establishing a holistic and integrated linkage between the two.
The event also seeks to create viable marketing opportunities for artisans and weavers, thereby enhancing their economic empowerment and supporting the continued growth of the handloom and handicraft sectors.
