Dimapur, Jan. 21 (EMN): A day after the Dimapur district administration was accused of ignoring several complaints made by the Diphupar Fact Finding Action Committee (DFFAC) and Diphupar Community’s Chairman Forum (DCCF) on misappropriation of funds by various village council members, the DC on Tuesday assured that the issue will be settled “very soon.”

Speaking to Eastern Mirror, the DC of Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi said that the matter is being handled by the sub divisional officer (SDO) and that it will be solved very soon.

“The last time I met with the committee, I told them to give me two weeks, and one-two days up and down (sic) after the given timeframe will be there,” Khinchi said, adding that the two-week timeframe ended only on January 18.

“We are so very busy with Republic Day preparations but I assure the SDO will be giving his report soon,” informed Khinchi.

Khinchi further said that inquiry is going on at the moment regarding the issue. “Once the SDO sends his report to me, will take further action against those found guilty; issue will be resolved soon,” maintained the DC.

DVC says the issue was settled

The Diphupar Village Council (DVC) has issued a press release stating that the DCCF and Diphupar Village Fact Finding Committee (DVFFC) are trying to “disinter an issue which was settled at the instance of the then deputy commissioner of Dimapur.”

It stated that the extra additional commissioner (EAC) of Chümoukedima had forwarded the complaint submitted by the DVFFC to the DC and that the issue is now in the office of the DC.

The DVC further said that the matter stands sub-judiced in the office of Dimapur DC.

The statement came a day after the DCCF and DVFFC accused the deputy commissioner of Dimapur of failing to act on numerous attempts made to settle an ongoing issue regarding misappropriation of funds by various DVC members, GBs and management committee members of Diphupar Village Development Board (DVDB).
