Former Arunachal Pradesh CM Kalikho Pul’s son found dead in UK

Dimapur, Feb. 11 (EMN): Shubanso Pul, son of former Arunachal Pradesh CM Kalikho Pul, has been reportedly found dead under mysterious circumstances at his apartment in Brighton, United Kingdom (UK), family sources informed on Tuesday.

It is reported that 20-year-old Shubanso Pul was a law student at the University of Sussex. According to an East Sussex Police statement, “A 20-year-old man was found dead in a bedroom on Sunday (February 9)”. He was the son of Pul’s first wife, Dangwimsai Pul.

The Pul family in Itanagar is trying to contact the Indian High Commission in the UK to bring the mortal remains of Shubanso Pul.

Kalikho Pul was elected five times from the Hayuliang Vidhan Sabha constituency representing the Indian National Congress. He was appointed as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in 2016 for a brief period following a series of intense political developments. However, the Supreme Court (SC) ruled against his appointment and he had to relinquish the post. A month later, Kalikho Pul allegedly hanged himself at his official residence in Itanagar on August 9, 2016.

In his alleged suicide note, a number of allegations about massive corruption were written which prompted Dangwimsai Pul to move the Supreme Court seeking a probe into his death. However, the allegations were dismissed by the high court.
