DIMAPUR — Having observed that many food business operators (FBO) are operating food businesses within Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland without obtaining a food safety license/ registration certificate, the food safety administration, Dimapur zone, has directed the concerned FBO to obtain the license on or before October 31.
The designated food safety officer, Samuel Zehol, mentioned that under sub-section 1 of section 31 of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 (central) “No person shall commence or carry on any food business except under a license.”
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]He added that operating a food business without obtaining a food safety license/ registration certificate would amount to a violation under Regulation 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 of the Food Safety and Standards (licensing and registration of food business) Regulations, 2011.
Therefore, the defaulting food business operators are informed to obtain the license/ registration certificate online through the website www.foscos.fssai.gov.in or contact his office for queries desired on or before October 31. He further cautioned that defaulters would be penalised under Section 58 of the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006.
