Electors verification starts in Wokha

Dimapur, Sep. 10 (EMN): The Wokha district administration has announced the Electors Verification Programme for the district.

The electoral registration officer of the district, Mhathung Tsanglao informed that the Election Commission of India had announced the verification programme to be conducted from September 1 and till October 15 as part of pre-revision activity.

The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued updates to the media on Tuesday informing about the notice.

As part of the programme, verification and authentication of every elector is mandatory. In this regard, to enable employees of every department for verification of their enrolment in the electoral roll, the establishment has set up a ‘voters facilitation centre’ in the deputy commissioner’s office in Wokha.

All the heads of departments are requested to inform employees in their establishments who are registered in the electoral roll in Wokha district to visit the center in accordance with the schedule given, and complete the verification.

Schedule
The dates for the verification department-wise: Deputy commissioner’s office staff: September 9-10; police superintendent office and staff: September 11-12; rest of the departments: September 13-20.

Electors are directed to bring anyone of the following documents during the time of verification: Aadhar card, Indian passport, driving license, government ID card, Bank pass book, ration card, PAN card, smart card issued by RGI and NPF; latest electricity, water, telephone, gas bill for that address either in the name of the applicant or that of his/her immediate relation like parents etc; any other documents as approved by the commission.
