DIPR reaches out to ‘Life Connect’

Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): Officials of the department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), led by its director Limawati Ao visited the office of ‘Life Connect,’ Kohima, on December 19 and interacted with its members and some of their family members.

During a short programme, the director of Life Connect, Sali Ngully, gave an overview of the NGO which aims to enable and empower women and their families to experience wholeness in life, a DIPR report stated on Friday.

“An empowered woman is one who is self confident, recognises her worth, knows her purpose and have control over decisions that affects her life, Ngully stated adding that Life Connect aims to bring about holistic empowerment to vulnerable women to help them have a sense of self-reliance, vision for future, economic security, status and decision making power within the family as well as the community and experience transformed lives through the message of Christ.

Presently, their area of focus is New Market, Kohima. The NGO is working with 54 families.

Director of IPR, Limawati Ao, briefly spoke on the occasion and presented blankets to the families associated with Life Connect in Kohima.

The aim of the ministry is not only to reach out to the women, young girls, wine sellers, alcoholics and children, but also to men of New Market colony with the hope to develop a men’s ministry.

The ministry also hopes to outreach out to Potterland colony in the near future. They also run the Children Impact Programme through which free tuitions are given, besides engaging programmes such as children’s club which is stated to be a children development programme.
