Dimapur DC orders encroachers off govt. land

Dimapur, Jan. 22 (EMN): The Dimapur district administration has issued an order to individuals who are said to be encroaching on government-acquired land. They are ordered to cease all developmental activities on the land, and are directed to produce within 15 days documents supporting their claim on the land areas in question. 

An order from the deputy commissioner’s office on Wednesday stated: ‘Whereas, it has come to the notice of the undersigned, that some individuals are illegally constructing temporary structures and concrete pillars over a land covered by Dag Nov. 15, 16, 76, 307, 1154 and 1159 of block no. 3 and 52, 61, 247, 72247 of block no. 11. The land covered by the aforementioned Dags has been acquired by the government of Nagaland for extension of NH-39 bye-pass from Amar Flour Mill to new Dhansiri Bridge, Dimapur, Nagaland.’

“Therefore, the concerned individuals are directed to restrain and refrain themselves from carrying out any further illegal developmental activities over the land covered by the aforementioned Dags. The concerned individuals are also directed to dismantle and remove any temporary structures on the same.”

Further, the individuals are directed to produce documents, if any, in support of their claim on the public land within a period of 15 days from the date of publication of this notice.

“Furthermore, in the event of failure of the concerned parties to comply with this notice, this office will be constrained to proceed for eviction as per the Nagaland Eviction of Persons in Unauthorised Occupation of Public Land Act, 1978 (As amended up to date),” the order stated.
