Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) laments that acts of corruption and ‘defection’ have shamed the spirit of the affirmation ‘Nagaland for Christ.’ The party reserved its bitterest gall for ‘defectors’ though.
The Congress issued a press release on Thursday expressing disgust for ‘defectors’ who according to the party are “mass human traffickers,” and people without morals and principles who have “sold their soul, spirit and faith.”
The press release was appended by K Therie, president of the NPCC.

The party lamented that even the ministers do “not feel guilt or shame” in using development project funds.
The press release lamented leaders who ‘believe in engineering defections by offering huge gratification to stick to the chair at all costs including Christ.’ This is defacing the slogan ‘Nagaland for Christ,’ the NPCC stated.

The Congress held the opinion that “people cannot believe MLAs (members of legislative assembly) and candidates have defected at the risk of disqualification and loss of future, without accepting huge money.”

Calling defectors “the worst lot because they sell their faithful followers along with their mandate,” the NPCC called them “mass human traffickers.”

“They are mass human traffickers. They are important before the buyer because they have certain voters behind them. Those that have sold themselves have not only finished their personal future but have also sold their soul, spirit and faith,” the NPCC stated.

“They are without morals, lack principles, ideas and vision in life. They have no plan for their people nor do they see the future.”

Further, the Congress held belief that even those who support the defectors and “mandate traitors” must stand before God.

“Any one cooperating and supporting defectors or mandate traitors will have the same fate before God. There is talk in the market that they will not be disqualified by the honourable speaker. Does it mean the 10th schedule and the rules framed thereof are invalid?” the NPCC stted.

“Be it speaker, governor or president, they are all under the law and no one will escape. Speaker is not the end in the case of law framed thereof.”

The NPCC then referred to Good Friday, which is on April 19.
“As Good Friday comes to remind us that Jesus died for the sinners, I want Nagaland Christians not to follow the Achan way of life and fate. Jesus forgave the woman for she confessed before him and repented but he also asked her not to repeat. Let Achan meet his fate but do not be his livestock that were stoned to death together with him,” the NPCC added.
