DC Dimapur issues directives to shop owners

Dimapur, March 25 (EMN): Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi on Wednesday issued precautionary measures for compliance by exempted shops and business establishments viz. pharmacies, fair price shops, grocery stores, and vegetable vendors.

In a press update, the DC instructed all shopkeepers to wear face masks and maintain distance from the public. It stated that shopkeepers should keep hand sanitisers or provide facilities for hand wash for their own and for public use. Shops should be cleaned and sanitised and customers should maintain a distance of one meter from each other, it read

“As far as possible, only one member from a family may go out from their home to buy the essential commodities and all those who are going out should wear masks,” read the statement.

Further, people should not sit/ stand in groups outside the shops, it added.

In a separate statement, deputy commissioner, Dimapur, has directed all the shops selling essential commodities under Dimapur town to keep their shops open from 8 am to 2 pm only with immediate effect till further order. The public are informed to do their shopping at the specified period. The order, however, directed pharmacies and medical shops to remain open during normal business hours.

The DC also directed SO (CC) and LPG Sales, Dimapur, to delivery LPG cylinders at home.

Public urged to stay at home

In a separate notification, the DC also informed that the lockdown from March 25 till April 12 was a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19. He has, therefore, requested the public “to mandatorily stay at home and to avoid all manner of public gatherings including family outings, picnics and other leisure activities,” it read.
