Dimapur, Dec. 20 (EMN): A three-day general conference of the Council of Rengma Baptist Churches (CRBC) 2019, hosted by Tesophenyu Lorinyu Baptist Church, got underway at Tesophenyu village with the theme “Let us rebuild, word and prayer” (Nehemiah 2:17-18).
The convention was dedicated by Rev. Wachulo Jemu, while the flag was hoisted by Dr. PS Lorin, CRBC president.
More than 2000 members comprising registered delegates from all the member churches of the CRBC, invitees, and local members are attending the conference.
An update from the organisers stated that the number of attendees was expected to increase in the next two days.
Haiwalo Apon, CRBC executive secretary, spoke on the topic “Let us rebuild, a corporate response” as the main speaker at the inaugural programme.
The speakers of the three day programme are Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, NBCC general secretary; Dr. Kethoser Aniu Kevichusa, RZIM ministry associate; Dr. Joshua Lorin, principal OTS; and Haiwalo Apon, CRBC executive secretary.
The general convention will be concluding on December 22. Other activities include Bible study, Bible quiz, Bible recitation, and hymnal competition among others.
