Contraband worth INR 28 cr. seized in Tengnoupal district
Dimapur, Oct. 8 (EMN): Troops of Assam Rifles seized contraband drugs worth INR 28 crore from Tengnoupal district, near Moreh in Manipur on October 5.
An update received here on Tuesday from PRO Defence informed that the troops conducted a search based on specific input received regarding the presence contraband items in a house in Phaicham Veng.
The Assam Rifles along with Moreh police including Mahila constable, conducted a search of the house belonging to a women named Vahjahat Haokip w/o Late Kamnit, it stated.
During the raid, the team claimed to have recovered 5,04,000 (53.54 kg) of WIY Tablets. 15.269 kg of Crystal Ice Myth, 2.206 kg of Ketamine, 194 bottle of Phencydile, and INR 74,150 and Burmese 49000 Kyats.
The accused along with the seized items were handed over to Moreh Police for further legal action.
In a separate incident, on October 5, it informed that the troops of Assam Rifles apprehended two persons with brown sugar weighing 618 grams worth INR 1.23 crore near Khudengthabi check-post, Tengnoupal district.
The items were handed over to Police Station Moreh.
