Dimapur, Aug. 15 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has inaugurated a common scholarship website. He inaugurated the website on August 15 at the Secretariat in Kohima during the Independence Day celebrations.

The website will provide a centralised window for all state scholarships, updates stated. The department of Information Technology & Communications is developing the website in phases, the government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), stated on Thursday in its updates.

The first phase of it, which has been completed, consists of development of scholarship features such as one-time registration, email verification, online submission of e-forms and generation of QR and bar codes for verification.

The second phase shall consist of services such as duplicity checking, automated alerts to the departments and scholarship disbursement alerts to applicants.

The main objective behind creating the portal was to develop and “deploy portal” for all beneficiaries in the state. This will enable ease of maintenance besides providing a centralised online single window for all state scholarships.

Currently, five services have been developed and hosted: Post-matric scholarship, merit scholarship, NEC scholarship, and state research scholarship for the department of Higher Education and pre-matric scholarship ie. classes 9-10 for the department of School Education, the updates stated.
