Combined Chakhesang ‘Fathers’ Camp’ concludes

Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): A three-day combined Fathers Camp of Razeba Baptist Church (RBC) and Zelome Baptist Church (ZBC) successfully culminated on April 14 at Koide Bisho under in Senapati district, Manipur. The camp was organised by men’s fellowship department of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill Kohima (CBCMHK) on the theme “Stand firm in the faith, be men of courage” (1 Cor, 16:13-14).
Speaking on the concluding programme, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, senior pastor of CBCMHK, spoke on ‘Fathers role in the church and society today’ and ‘Renewing marital vows and relationship,’ while Rhucho Tureng, head deacon of CBCMHK, and Neikhwepe-u Khalo, former chairperson of CBCMHK, spoke on ‘Fathers role in parenting,’ and ‘Family in the plan of God’ respectively.

The camp media coordinator, Kuzhovesa Soho, stated that the three-day camp was marked with personal devotion, bible study, free medical camp, recreational time including football, tug of war, song competitions etc.

The release stated that church leaders and campers were encouraged by the presence of leaders from Poumai Naga Baptist Association (PNBA) led by its executive secretary, Rev. James along with finance secretary Rev. PD. Thaisu, and youth secretary Rev. P. Thaikho. It stated that the leaders paid a courtesy visit at the ongoing camp and shared words of encouragement and expressed happiness for coming to their land and organising such holy oriented programmes.

During a testimonial session led by the camp director and chairman of CBCMHK men’s fellowship department, Vehusa Dzudo, the campers pledged to be committed, give times to the family, have regular bible reading, conduct family worship, reconcile with family members and render time for the church etc.

Meanwhile, RBC and ZBC expressed gratitude to CBCMHK men’s fellowship department in particular and the parent church in general for the sponsor to make the programme a grand success. The organisers further thanked all the speakers, resource persons, participants and all campers for making the camp a grand success.
