College students explore options at Career Expo 2020

Dimapur, Feb. 24 (EMN):
A career event, Education and Career Expo 2020, was conducted for final year students of different colleges in and around Dimapur, was organised by ‘Educentre’ in collaboration with ‘knowledge Centre’ on February 24 at Dimapur. The event will conclude on February 25.

The two-day exposition was conducted for final year undergraduate students. Career Expo 2020 was conducted with the objective to guide students to various career and study opportunities after graduation.

The programme was inaugurated by the national secretary of the minority affairs unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) Sasank Ghatraj. Speaking at the event, he acknowledged the organisers for promoting young people of this country and promoting education in various ways.

Speaking to Eastern Mirror, the director of ‘Knowledge Network’ Ram Merani said the organisers’ main objective is to provide various career options and opportunities to students and to assist the students to directly interact with the institutions offering different courses, besides help them get information about career opportunities.

During today’s event, Merani said, career counselling sessions were conducted by professionals with the students. Most students find it difficult to choose their careers. After counselling sessions, students can interact with different institutions that are part of the education expo, it was informed.

The director informed that the aim of the event also was to give exposure to local students because career choices after graduation can be limited in Nagaland. The organisers said to add value and knowledge that can guide the students in choosing their careers.

Speaking to Eastern Mirror, a representative of Educentre Lezo Putsure said approximately 1500 students will be participating in the Career Expo 2020. He informed that the programme will be conducted in Kohima on February 27 and the 28th. Students will get the opportunity to interact directly with 12 renowned
institutions.
