CHSS lift Kurshed Hussain memorial U-18 trophy

Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS)lifted the Late Khurshed Hussain Memorial Under-18 Cricket Tournament 2020 trophy at the NCA stadium in Dimapur on March 20.

CHSS defeated Black Caps Juniors by 32 runs in the final match on Thursday to win the trophy, an update from Dimapur District Cricket Association (DDCA) informed.

The tournament, which was first conducted in 1977, was played from March 14 to the 19th at NCA stadium with Dr. BL Agarwal, first general secretary of DDCA, attending the closing ceremony on Thursday. It was organised by DDCA under the aegis of NCA.

According to an update received here, Black Caps Juniors won the toss and elected to field first. Put to bat first, CHSS scored 144 runs (all out) in 44.4 hours with Kundan contributing a half century, while Sahid scored 33 runs and Vicky, 20. Black Caps Juniors’ bowling attack was led by Alok with five wickets; Sonu, three; and Sanjiv, two.

Chasing a decent total, Black Caps Juniors’ were bowled out for just 112 runs in 34 overs. Monu scored 29 runs; Gagan, 16; and Jeetender, 15, for the team, while Sahid took five wickets and Ankesh, two, for CHSS
