Dimapur, Jan. 12 (EMN): The Changsang Range Students’ Union (CRSU) celebrated its 50th anniversary with the theme “Achievement through the power of unity” at Sangsangyo EAC headquarter in Tuensang district from January 8 to the 10th with member of legislative assembly T Kejong, as the event’s special guest.
Representatives from different villages in the range, former leaders, church leaders and elders etc attended the programme. CRSU comprised of seven Chang villages, an update from the union stated on Sunday.
Advocate W Anti Mangyang, SDPO of Longleng L Impüng Chang, pastor of Yungkük Baptist Church L Ongmang, spoke on “Reorient priorities,” “Honouring our past: creating our future,” and “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
Motivational speeches were delivered by BY Choba, SDPO, Mokochung; I Bunglang, deputy superintendent of police (R), Tuensang; N Chullen, assistant controller of LM&CP Tuensang; Antitola, vice-principal of GHSS Thangjam, Tuensang, and Wongto Chingmak, agriculture officer, Tuensang.
On the third day of the event, a friendship volleyball tournament was organised for all the villages. The tournament was witnessed by all the villagers and other neighbouring villages. Sangsangyo Students’ Union defeated Konya Students’ Union in the final.
Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant; CCSU president, leaders from different fields from the range, advisors, founding members also spoke in the three-day programme.
Talent night was held on the last night where Rockamentia, a well-known band from the district, enthralled the gathering.
