Centre assures to expedite the works in Tuensang

Dimapur, Aug. 13 (EMN): Ministry of Roads Transportation and Highways (MORTH), Government of India, and the Development of Northeast Region (DoNER) have assured to expedite the ongoing works as early as possible in Tuensang.
The assurance was made by the chief engineer of MORTH, SC Mandal, to the delegation of Action Plan Committee (APC), Tuensang district, which called on him on August 8 at his office in New Delhi.

APC general secretary, Singkhum Sangtam, and the press secretary, Tia Sangtam, reminded the official that the people of Tuensang has been facing untold misery on daily basis due to government’s apathy since the inception of Nagaland statehood.

It rued that despite several appeals made to the state government, no positive measures have taken so far in the NH-202/ 155 that stretch from Mokokchung to Tuensang. It also mentioned that a delegation led by its president, N Kaimang Chang had submitted a memorandum pertaining to the issue.

Responding to the plea, the chief engineer of North East Region positively assured the APC to accord top utmost priority and expedite the works as early as possible. He assured the delegation to expect the outcome very soon.

Meanwhile, APC has acknowledged the Tuensang Chamber of Commerce and Industries (TCCI), ENPO officials, Truck Owners’ Union of Tuensang and Private Taxi Union of Tuensang unit for the support financial contributions in enabling to submit the memorandum.

The APC further looked forward for their continuous co-operation in the days to come in order to overcome the common hardship confronting the people of Tuensang district.
