Blind football training camp concludes in Dimapur

Dimapur, Feb. 16 (EMN): The Nagaland Blind Football (NBF) demonstration and training camp concluded on Sunday, February 16 at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School ground in Dimapur.

The two-day camp was organised by the State Disability Forum and nongovernmental organisation Prodigal’s Home in collaboration with the Indian Blind Football Federation.

Speaking at the kick-off programme, Dimapur’s Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anoop Khinchi, in a brief speech, lauded the organisers for the initiative paving the way for positive change in the society.

He encouraged the gathering to understand the rights of disability and make sure that they enjoy their rights. The DC said, ‘We as a society should understand and have acceptance for diversity.’

He spoke also about the importance of sports which he said help in mental and physical growth. The DC said to look forward to more such programmes and exercises even in the days to come.

During the culmination programme, a blind demo game was played between Meghalaya and Shillong team.

Shillong scored one goal and defeated the Meghalaya team.
