Bikers’ squad takes up plantation drive in Dimapur

Dimapur, Aug. 4 (EMN): In spite of knowledge about deforestation and its negative impact on environment, trees continued to be felled indiscriminately.
To contribute ‘towards a better future,’ a group of bikers called the ‘RE Brothers Nagaland’ organised a plantation drive with the slogan “save Earth ride,” on Sunday Aug. 4 in Dimapur town.
The drive was flagged off from the Apollo Tyre establishment at Khermahal.
The group planted more than 200 saplings at Dimapur Government College, Eden Hospital, Sub-Jail, Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, and the government school at Kashiram. The team said they will keep track and conserve the saplings that were planted today and also document yearly progress to help manage the efforts.
“The plantation drive will be a continuous effort where every year on the first Sunday of August the team will carry out the plantation drive,” the RE Brothers said. More than 120 bikers participated in a plantation.
