Bhandari sub division inter-departmental sports meet concludes

Dimapur, Feb. 29 (EMN): The 2nd edition of Bhandari sub division Inter-Departmental Sports meet on the theme “Together we serve” in support of BBBP awareness campaign in collaboration with DLCW- MSK concluded on Saturday, Feb. 29 with Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha, as the special guest.

In his valedictory speech, Lotha congratulated the civil administration, Bhandari for taking the lead in keeping the sub division active and vibrant and said that the district administration is in total support of the BBBP campaign to create awareness to educate and uplift the girls who are equal stake holders and partners for progressive and advanced society.

Calling on the government servants to be diligent and rededicate themselves in their given responsibilities, he also stated that sporting events where all departments come together ignites a spirit of oneness and gives them the idea of shared responsibility in striving together to deliver better services to the public and earn their good will.

He also said that Bhandari sub division, which is the oldest administrative head quarter in the district, should be at par with the district in terms of development and human resources.

The three-day sporting events saw 7th NAP as the overall champion followed by education department in runners-up position.

Supply, IPR, Power and SIB departments (SIPS X1) were the champion in the women penalty shootout.

In men’s exhibition tug of war, the officer’s team led by the deputy commissioner, Wokha, defeated Bhandari civil society team while Eloe Hoho Bhandari defeated SIPS team.
