Kohima, July 17 (EMN): A local band, Cotton Country, will be celebrating its 15th anniversary with a live concert on July 20 at the RCEMPA at Jotsoma in Kohima district. The programme will be from 6:00 pm.
This was informed by the band’s members at a press conference on July 17 in Kohima. The concert is supported by the Music Task Force.

The band has been through ups and downs but there have been no gaps there, said Senti Johny, vocalist and founding member of Cotton Country. Unlike many other bands that cease after a few years, he said the band continues to be consistent.

‘15 years itself is an achievement and we are humbled and touched by the support given by the fans. In addition, to be working with the Music Task Force is an accomplishment,’ he added.

The group is Kennedy-C (guitars), Adi Sekhos (bass), Kekhrie Dzüvichü (drums), Imti Z Lee (rhythms, vocal), and Senti Johny (vocal).

The concert will also feature local artists as guest appearances. A few of them are Dziesekhrienuo, Kekhrie Ringa, Seyievinuo, and Senti Longchar.

The band also informed that it will be releasing a cover album via YouTube soon, to commemorate their 15th anniversary.

The band was formed in 2004. Over the years, it had performed across the state, Northeast region and even at the national arena.

Further, they have actively participated in various social campaigns such the ‘clean elections’ campaign and environmental movements and education, among others.

Tickets to the show are priced at INR 100 for one. It will be available at the concert’s venue and with the band members.
