Angami Sports Association wrestling meet from today

Kohima, Feb. 11 (EMN): The Angami Sports Association (ASA) is all set to organise the much anticipated 48th Angami Sports Association wrestling Meet at Khuochiezie local ground in Kohima on Wednesday.
The Khuochiezie ground is expected to be jam-packed once again with thousands of spectators who will turn up to witness the premier Naga style wrestling tournament which will feature 60 best wrestlers of the Angami tribe commencing from 9 am onwards.
15 wrestlers each from Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA), Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO) and Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) will be representing the four Angami regions in Kohima district.
The competition consists of three rounds of 180 matches followed by the individual round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
The champion will fetch a sum of INR 1,50,000 while the runner-up will receive INR 1,00,000.
The third and the fourth position holders will receive INR 80,000 and INR 50,000 respectively. The four quarter-finalists will pocket INR 5,000 each.
Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire will attend the inaugural function as the special guest.
Meanwhile, the second day of the ASA sports meet will feature junior wrestling competition on Thursday.
The ground is being managed by Viswema Youth Organisation (VYO).
