Dimapur, Aug. 8 (EMN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) under 34 Aghunato Assembly Constituency has merged with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The merger programme was held in Aghunato town on August 7, APRO Aghunato stated in an update.

Speaking at the programme, Advisor of Information Technology, Science and Technology, NRE, Mmhonlumo Kikon, welcomed the new BJP members from Aghunato. He has termed as a historic day and a birth of more developments. He advised the the public to organise Swachh Bharat mass social work and tree plantation programme in Aghunato town to mark the occasion.

The Advisor stated that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in the centre, the states are availing various development schemes and programmes. He said road conditions have been largely improved by receiving huge funding from the centre apart from many development activities taking place in the State. Besides, he also stated that many young entrepreneurs have well established their business by availing various loans provided by the centre. He, therefore, called upon the people not to be a mere supporter but active supporter of the party in order to avail more developments in the days to come.

Co-incharge of All India BJP youth membership drive, Arvind Damani welcomed a large number people under 34 AC for merging with BJP under the leadership of former NPF candidate Hukiye N Tissica. He has termed as a great day and historic moment not only for Aghunato people but also for Zunheboto district and the State.

Stating that family politics or VIP culture does not exist in BJP, Arvind said party workers are addressed as most important person (MIP) adding equal opportunity are offered to all the loyal members. He also stated that the strength of BJP is growing at the centre and state with every passing day. He, therefore, called upon the party members to serve with sincerity in order to deliver development to every household in the state.

Hukiye N Tissica, former NPF candidate, said the supporters and sympathisers of NPF have lost hope on the party because of differences in ideologies that exist at the higher level. Foreseeing that NPF party has no future to look forward to, he said the unit has decided to merge with BJP en masse in order to strengthen the present government.

He has assured to serve with loyalty and honesty towards the growth of the BJP in the state and the centre. Hukiye also appealed to the government to bring more developments in order to enhance economy of Aghunato. He also requested the leaders in the present government to address the grievances of his supporters and the public of Aghunato.

The declaration of merger was said by Kakiye Yeptho, president NPF 34 Aghunato AC, while the introduction was done by Kaiho Achumi, vice president NPF 34 Aghunato AC, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Khevito Assumi, mandal president 34 Aghunato AC.

Short speeches were delivered by Dr. Sukhato Sema, vice president BJP Nagaland and in-charge of Zunheboto district, and Nuklotoshi, candidate. The programme was chaired by Shikuto Sema, president BJP Zunheboto unit, and the benediction was said by Ikugha Sumi, youth leader SBAK Aizuto (B).
