Dimapur, Jan. 22 (EMN): Abao Virie won the Chakhroma Naga-style wrestling organised by Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) held at Chümoukedima town, Dimapur on January 21.
Virie of Tenyiphe-I lifted the senior category of Naga-style wrestling while Petevisa Sirie of Medziphema town won the second place.
Meanwhile, Seyiesalie Nakhro of Piphe Bawe and Keneivilie Meyase of Medziphema village bagged the third and fourth place respectively.
In the Under-16 category, Viketouto Keyho of Piphe Bawe won the title and Neikotseilie Krose of Medziphema town got second while Keneisezo Keyho of Piphe Bawe and Vizokieto Nakro Medziphema –‘A’ (Sirhi Angami) village won third and fourth prizes respectively.
Another event that took place on Wednesday was women’s volleyball. Group B (Team 2) emerged as champions and Group B (Team 1) bagged the runners-up in the event.
A press release issued by the organisers informed that volleyball and football matches for men will continue at NAPTC ground from 8 am onwards according to the given schedule, while athletics for both men and women will begin today, on Thursday at Local ground, Chümoukedima town at 9 am.
