Ruokuobeituo dominated the 9th AMAM Auto and MotoX in Mokokchung, winning Fastest Driver and leading Northeast Championship Round One.

MOKOKCHUNG — Ruokuobeituo of the Kohima Adventure Motorsports Club (KAMC) emerged as the standout performer at the 9th AMAM Auto & MotoX, securing both the Fastest Driver Award and the overall Northeast Championship crown as the two-day event concluded at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung on February 7.
The competition, which also served as Round One of the Northeast Championship 2026, was organised by the Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM) on February 6 and the 7th. Participation was restricted to racers from Nagaland, representing clubs from Kohima, Dimapur and Mokokchung, with a total prize pool of INR 3.50 lakh.
At the prize distribution ceremony, Wangpang Konyak, Advisor for Social Welfare, attended as the special guest. In his address, he lauded AMAM for consistently providing a platform for young motorsport enthusiasts and said the ninth edition of the event reflected the organisers’ dedication and reliability. He noted that the event fostered discipline, precision and healthy competition among youth and drew participants from across Nagaland.

Konyak also highlighted that this year’s event gained added significance as it was designated a Northeast Championship round by the Motorsport Association of Northeast India. He encouraged drivers to aspire for national-level competition and said the state government, under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, continues to prioritise sports development across disciplines, including motorsports.
In the AutoX Open category, Ruokuobeituo clocked a best time of 02:28.10 to claim the champion title. Thezieu Kire (KAMC) finished as 1st runners-up with 02:32.91, while Chumdemo (Spearhead) secured 2nd runners-up with 02:33.81. Atoba Longkumer (Spearhead) and Kima Jamir (Spearhead) placed fourth and fifth respectively.
In the AutoX Below 1300cc category, Thezieu Kire (KAMC) emerged champion with a best time of 02:31.72. Ruokuobeituo finished as 1st runners-up with 02:33.41, and Chumdemo (Spearhead) was 2nd runners-up with 02:34.06.
For the Northeast Championship standings, Ruokuobeituo claimed the champion title, followed by Thezieu Kire as 1st runners-up and Chumdemo as 2nd runners-up.
In the MotoX Open category, which featured eight riders, Hukhoto Chuzho of Throttle Misfits, Kohima, was crowned champion. Bedukho Rhakho finished as 1st runners-up and Neithoser Soukhrie as 2nd runners-up, with all three podium finishers representing Throttle Misfits.
In the MotoX Beginner category, which saw 10 participants, Khruzoto Khesoh secured the champion title, followed by Khrishna Sharma as 1st runners-up and Lhousivile Meyase as 2nd runners-up.
Overall, around 60 four-wheelers competed in the AutoX segment across three categories — Open, Below 1300cc and SUV — while 17 riders participated in the MotoX events. A total of 33 competitors registered for the Northeast Championship Round One.
Winners across categories received cash prizes, trophies and certificates.
