The press release also highlighted a speech of the Nagaland police’s director general T John Longkumer. He said, “The response received from the candidates is extremely overwhelming. The primary focus of this rally is to provide an opportunity for the youth of this state and motivate them to join the Nagaland Police.”

“The recruitment depends on perseverance and hard work. This year, we saw a good number of candidates from the Backward Tribe who did exceptionally well in the various tests,” the press release quoted him as having stated.

The highest number of candidates who appeared for the written test was from Mon district, with 818 candidates, followed by Tuensang with 805 candidates.

Women who applied also performed well and have ‘exceeded in all stages of the recruitment process,’ the press release stated.

The press release stated that the DGP lauded the selected candidates. “It is heartening to see that well qualified candidates have been selected. A candidate with NCC ‘C’ certificate also in Nagaland women cricket team and holding a black belt in martial arts is qualified in the process. The recruitment drive was seen that effort was made to ensure fair examination and those deserving candidates have been selected because of their hard work. We hope to see more number of applicants come forward in the future recruitment rallies.”
