Zunheboto livestock farmers undertake tour

Dimapur, June 27 (EMN): Livestock farmers from Zunheboto block each have been selected to undergo exposure trip to already established states in the field of livestock farming beginning from June 27.
Chief Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Officer, Zunheboto, Dr. Toshi Aier said the exposure trip is being organised under National Livestock Mission (NLM) 2015-16 & 17.

The aim of the mission, according to him, was to allow the farmers to see for themselves the already technologically established/ progressive farms and imparting knowledge through such field visits. The objective of the exposure was to educate and help build up their capacity and create confidence in taking up farming activities.
He said the team will tentatively visit the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara, in Assam and all its instructional livestock and poultry farms including its abattoir, followed by visit to private run hatchery units and composite farms.
The team would also visit the Government run goattery farm in Byrnihat and Kyrdemkolai poultry farm in Meghalaya.
Dr. Bocto Sumi, VAS Veterinary Hospital, Zunheboto, along with his sub-ordinate officer would lead the team. CVO, Zunheboto, Dr. Toshi Aier, delivered short speech before their departure wherein he encouraged them to adhere to certain guidelines and wished them successful journey.
