Aditya Verma, Commandant of 7 Assam Rifles, along with the teaching faculty and students of Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire, on the occasion of fresher’s day.

Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): Zisaji Presidency College (ZPC) celebrated its 21st foundation day cum fresher’s meet on July 10 in the college auditorium with Col. Aditya Verma, Commandant of 7 Assam Rifles, as the chief guest.
Addressing the students, Verma maintained that academic excellence should be the most important priority in their lives. He also encouraged them to use the internet for the correct purpose and be benefited.
Calling on the need to abstain from ‘isms,’ he urged the gathering to work towards the uplift of the Nagas and the country as a whole.
Verma also assured of his help to those who are interested to join the Indian army. He also assured to extend his help in the construction of the playground in the new campus site of Zisaji Presidency College.
Principal of Zisaji Presidency College, Helen Jamir, in her welcome address, said that the college could not be shifted to the new campus due to lack of infrastructure like water connection, electricity and college bus. She appealed the public leaders, elders and politicians to work for the development of the college. She also urged the students, teaching and non-teaching staff to take responsibility and work with unity.
Vice Principal of Zisaji Presidency College, Dr. Purna Chandra Mishra, gave a brief history of the college, while the president of ZPCTA, Thoshesie Katiry also spoke in the function.
Sedila and Atsaba were declared as Mr. and Miss Fresher 2017 respectively. Literary secretary of ZPCSU, Tsirethong L Sangtam, delivered the vote of thanks.
