Kohima, August 16 (EMN): Sloppy defense from Forerunners’ FC in the second half helped Ziekezou SC to earn three points and register their first win at the Kohima Football League by 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, Ziekezou SC moved above Nagabazar FC on better goal difference in the 5th place of the Kohima Football League table.

Forerunners’ FC defenders failing to clear the ball in the second half paid their price as Ziekezou SC scored three successive goals in 28th minute. With Ating Konyak scoring the first goal for Ziekezou SC in the 54th minute, Konyak’s teammate fetched him a through ball inside the area and he converted the goal with ease.

Substitute Vilhoubeituo Yhome scored the second goal for Ziekezou SC in the 76th minute with a low cross from Ketholezo. Yhome also got numerous chances to find the back of the net but failed to finish the game.

But four minutes later, Khavevi Assumi completed the treble for Ziekezou in the 81st minute. In the making, Ating Konyak shot was deflected by the keeper, however, Asumi tapped the ball into the empty net to make it 3-0.

Forerunners’ FC had their best chance in the second half to take the lead when Razouvotuo hit the post but there was no comeback from their side in the remaining minutes as they slumped to defeat. Forerunners’ FC is still winless in the league with two draws and one loss.
