Dimapur, Feb. 21 (EMN): A candidate of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) for 5th Ghaspani-II, Zhaleo Rio, has expressed confidence that the party would ‘usher in change at an unprecedented level for all round development through stability and unity under the leadership of (party’s chief ministerial candidate) Neiphiu Rio.’
This was stated in a press release issued by Thejangukho Yalietsu, press secretary of the NDPP for 5th Ghaspani-II assembly constituency.
Speaking during an induction ceremony for new members at his residence on Feb. 19, the bureaucrat-turned-politician was stated to have explained that the political situation in Nagaland had ‘became precarious due to several reasons and policies of the government while acting deaf, dumb and blind to the needs of the people.’
Expressing optimism, Zhaleo Rio was of the view that people were the ‘best to judge’ over who can bear burdens and responsibilities for them. He was stated to have added in his address that voters were the ‘decision-makers for tomorrow.’
Also, the candidate spoke about a ‘large constituency like Ghaspani-II’ as one that has ‘hundreds of problems in relation to social as well as political affairs.’ Rio was optimistic that the party would emerge with flying colours in the elections.
