Zeliangrong bodies resent non inclusion of its member in the cabinet

Imphal, March 25 (EMN): The non-inclusion of senior most elected member from Tamenglong district in the cabinet of BJP led coalition government has evoked sharp reaction from Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB), Manipur and Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF), Manipur.
The people of the district had great expectation that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level and state Chief Minister N Biren Singh at the state would give development opportunity to the Tamenglong district and achieve equal development with other districts by giving cabinet berth, says ZB President Thomas Kamei of ZB and Vice President David Kamei of Zeliangrong Youth Front in a release.Stating that Tamenglong had been neglected for the past 15 years by the Congress led government and added that this district have been suffering and is being declared as the most backward and under developed district among the districts of Manipur, it said, “It is very unfortunate that Tamenglong district have been left out in the council of Ministers.”
The Zeliangrong people of the district urged the authority concerned to ponder upon the great expectation of the public, it added.
It may be noted that the portfolios for ministers of 12 days old Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led coalition government in Manipur has been officially allocated following an official order last night.
Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren would be in charge of Home, Personnel, Planning, General Administrative Department, Vigilance, Legislative Affairs, Transport, Minor Irrigation, Sericulture, Tourism, Labour & Employment, Minority & OBC, Information Technology and all other departments not allocated specifically while Deputy Chief Minister Yumanam Joykumar of National People (NPP)’s Party gets Finance, Excise, Taxation, Science &Technology, Economics & Statistics and Civil Aviation.
BJP’s Th Bishwajit gets Public Works Department, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Commerce and Industries, Power, Administrative Reforms and Training, Information and Public Relation.
L Jayentakumar Singh of NPP gets Health and Family Welfare, Law and Legislative Affairs, Arts and Culture, Command Area Development Authority.
Karam Shyam of LokJanSakti gets Public Distribution System and Consumer Affairs, Weights and Measures, Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation.
Letpao Haokip of NPP gets Irrigation and Flood Control Department, Youth Affairs and Sports, N Kayisii, also from NPP gets Tribal and Hill Areas Development, Fisheries. Th Shyamkumar of Congress gets MAHUD, Town Planning, Forest and Environment, Horticulture and Soil ConservationLosii Dikho of Naga People’s Front gets Public Health Engineering Department, Printing and Stationary.
V Hangkhanlian of BJP gets Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry.Nemcha Kipgen of BJP gets Social Welfare and Co-operation.Thokchom Radhesyam Singh of BJP gets Education, Labour and Employment.
The 12 Parliamentary Secretaries sworn in on Thursday have also been allotted their portfolios.
