Dimapur, Dec. 2: A leading organization representing the Naga people living inside Myanmar has expressed unhappiness with chief minister, TR Zeliang over his failure to consult and meet with some of the major Naga organizations in Myanmar during his recent visit.

Zeliang was at Yangon in Myanmar for two days attending the International Business Seminar as part of India-Myanmar-Thailand Motor Rally on November 27 and 28.
However, Naga Traditional Literacy and Culture (Central) – a 25-year-old Naga organization – has stated that the chief minister had failed to communicate or meet with representatives of the Office of Naga Self-Administrative Zone, Naga Members of Parliament, NSCN (K) who had recently entered into a ceasefire agreement with Regional Government, Naga Traditional Literacy and Culture (Central) and Council of Naga Affairs.

In a press release issued today, the organization said that even though Zeliang had preached friendship, peace and development between Nagas on both sides of the border, his failure to meet said organizations will render it difficult to achieve.

It expressed “sorrow” that the chief minister had departed without meeting all Naga communities in Myanmar. The statement was signed by the chairman of Naga Traditional Literacy and Culture (Central), Aung Htut.
