YouthNet–Godrej open salon to empower women

Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): In the first of its kind the YouthNet in collaboration with the Godrej opened the ‘Salon-I Fellowship’ with the aim to empower women entrepreneurs in the area of beauty and wellness through life skills and gender sensitisation.
A press release received on Tuesday from the YouthNet informed.

The inauguration programme was attended by Indian film director, producer and writer, Imtiaz Ali as special invitee.
Ali in his address said that the beauty and wellness industry is growing in the country and with more professionals participation has helped entrepreneurs scale their business increasing their profitability and also employing more people.

One should not rely on someone to do things but should be done independently, he said.
Ali wished the very best for the project and urged for more interesting and meaningful workshops in the days to come.

Director YouthNet Lezo putsure said YouthNet’s partnership with Godrej is growing stronger each year. This year, he said the team will be focusing on building leadership and entrepreneurship skills for women entrepreneurs.

Beneficiary of beautypreneur project, Keneingunuo thanked Godrej and YouthNet for providing the platform.
Glimpse of the project was presented by Moainla Jamir and Velütalü Puro.

Under the YouthNet–Godrej Salon-I Fellowship, 20 entrepreneurs will undergo nine months skill training.
The project specifically aims at equipping micro-entrepreneurs in beauty with up-skilling a sustainable business, it informed.
