Dimapur, Oct. 19 (EMN): Realising the facts about the unemployment issues and also to delve into the deep meaning of painting, YouthNet in partnership with Asian Paints conducted an intensive 12-day professional skilled painting programme from Oct. 5 to the 18th at Toluvi village Dimapur.

“The training was conducted to sensitise and empower the youths with the skill sets to fulfill the demand in the construction sector,” stated a press release received here on Friday.

Project manager, Temjenmoa Jamir said that ‘the project aims to inculcate the skills and knowhow in painting’. 13 youths have become ‘professionally skilled and certified painters’, the press release stated.

Asian Paints trainer Wasik, while saying that they conducted the training programme for the unemployed youths so that they can be trained professionally, said that the Naga youths have the potential but have been left untapped and unskilled. He said that skilling them in the art would help in promoting their qualitative aspect in the field of fine painting.

One of the trainees, Niloto Assumi appreciated the YouthNet and Asian paints for organising the training programme.

‘The training was very good. Very happy with the kind of training and techniques taught. Earlier it was very hectic and time consuming to paint a small wall but now after the training, it is very easy and less time consuming,’ Assumi said.
