Youth skill development training underway

Dimapur, May 26 (EMN): The 25th batch of the skill development training for unemployed youth under Don Bosco Tech ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) got underway on May 26.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Pritpal Kaur, has motivated the unemployed youth to never give up on what they have started saying, “You are no lesser than anyone, failures are only speed breakers.”

The police officer also spoke on the immense potentials of the tribal people from the North eastern states. he desired that the whole world should learn the ethos of the tribal people be it in music, arts, sports, agriculture and hospitality apart from having respect for women.

She also encouraged the youth to always take the hard road because ‘no job was too small or insignificant.’

She further expressed appreciation to the institute for giving a platform to the unemployed youth and giving them the opportunity to excel further.

The executive director of AIDA and province coordinator of Don Bosco Tech, Sunny had highlighted on the history of the skill development programme that was started in 2010 for the drop-outs and unproductive youth.

Informing that out of 1600 trainees, more than 1500 have been placed in different companies and jobs, Sunny said ‘if they are guided, supported and accompanied they can do great things for the society.’

“What we lack in the Northeast is not preparing the youth to take up responsibilities, not giving opportunities, we must prepare the candidates for future environments,” he said.

He also urged the youth to be job providers instead of seekers.

A total of 64 unemployed youth are undergoing the 75-day training at the institute in the field of food and beverage, beauty and wellness and hospitality. It was informed that there are 125 Don Bosco skill training institutes across the country.
