Ungma, July 23: Joining with rest of the country, Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) was officially launched at Ungma village by Young Naga Club (YNC) under the aegis of Ungma village council today.
Limameren Longkumer , president of BJP YM Mokokchung graced the programme as chief guest in absentia of State executive member of BJP, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer.
At the grand launching programme at Imlang Aonglenden, the president of the YNC Satemzulu announced that club drew their inspiration from Temsutula Imsong, who received adulation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for her ‘Mission To Clean Varanasi Ghats’ and even appeared at popular show hosted by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
YNC president said Temsutula Imsong, is an active member of the club and following her example the club will start initiating cleanliness drive starting from its village to state level.Limamren Longkumer also lauded YNC for joining in making India clean. He also said organizing cleanliness drive will not make the whole country clean but it should be a continuous process from every individual to make India Clean.
He also appealed to the people of Ungma to atleast spare five minutes of their time everyday in making India Mission a success.
The Ungma village council chairman, Alemtoshi also lauded YNC for their noble initiation towards making a clean village through SBM as one of the biggest ambitious projects in India. He added that the people of Ungma will continue the SBM as part of their activities even if the mission ends by 2019.
The president of the Soyim Students’ Union, Talitemsu Longkumer also encouraged the YNC member to work hand in hand with the Village councils in every initiation and to make the village of Ungma a clean village by 2019.
Earlier, the invocation was offered by Rev Dr Noklen pastor Ungma Baptist Church. The cultural programme presented by junior cultural troupe of Young Naga Club.
The launching programme of SBM was marked by a kick off of cleanliness drive around the whole village which was initiated by Scouts & Guides of GMS Imrong, Shingang Ungma and volunteers from the village.
