WYWO conducts seminar in Tokishe

Dimapur, Jan. 16: Western Yimchungru Women Organisation (WYWO) organised a seminar on the topic “Capacity building on women empowerment” at Tokishe village on January 12 with Miss Alila, Associate Pastor of Yimchunger Baptist Church, Chumukedma, as the resource person.
The speaker expressed that women empowerment can be achieved when she is given the freedom to exercise her interest or talent, a congenial social environment, respect as a capable women and given equal opportunities. She urged each individual to possess certain capacities.
Mrs. Throngkila Tohanba also exhorted the members by emphasising on five qualities such as God fearing, truthfulness, being sociable and extending cooperation to one’s community whenever required, proper time management between family and social commitments and to be a women of strong will. She further added that all these are essential qualities for the womenfolk to go forward. She also encouraged the congregation to maintain peace and harmony in the family which will eventually led to a better society.The programme was chaired by its vice president Ajila Kiry, while the Bible reading was led by Yankela, women pastor Tokishe. The presidential address was delivered by Kerila Keorun, while special number was presented by the Western Yimchunger Students’ Union.
A short speeches were also delivered by PKF Tochu, president of Western Yimchunger Hoho (WYH) and Kaisa vice president YWO. The vote of thanks was delivered by its social and cultural secretary Tsarila. The seminar concluded with a benediction said by Yamukam, pastor of Tokishe village. The programme also saw display of cultural dance by Tokishe village women organisation.
