Women in Longleng get insight on MSK scheme

Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) and the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB) have jointly conducted an orientation training for personnel of the Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) scheme in Longleng district on May 15.
The District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) under MSK scheme is meant to provide “one stop convergent support services for empowering rural women with opportunities for skill development, employment, digital literacy, health and nutrition”
Bano Vinito, NSSWB chairperson, challenged and exhorted the MSK team to give their utmost service for the benefit of their own people, while Gracy Ayee, SRCW state coordinator, explained the implementing mechanism of Sakhi- One Stop Centre and delved into the converging aspects of MSK with the ministry’s schemes in the state.
Chothalü Phesao presented the working mechanism of the 181-Women Helpline, a 24 x 7 free call toll services to cater to victims of violence against women, while Juliana Medom, SRCW assistant state coordinator, gave an overview of the mission activities and its objective to liaison with the state government in facilitating the implementation of women centric schemes in the state. She expounded on the role of District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) as the foothold for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in the concerned district.
