Wokha, Dec. 5 (EMN): As the festive season begins throughout the state, the much awaited Wokha Night carnival was launced on Tuesday by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion the deputy commissioner emphasised on the importance of having a common platform to promote the youth and young entrepreneurs, who are educated but unemployed.
He asserted that the youth need to play a vital role to channelize the power of youth into a positive energy and so have the reasoning power to understand and help them for a peaceful society.
He appreciated the initiative and work of the colonies and encouraged the youth of every colony and organisation to start a creative and new innovative idea in promoting young talent in the district not only focusing on sales and the stalls.
Also greeting Christmas wishes he called upon the people to cooperate with the district administration and forces for smooth celebration throughout the event.
The carnival will be on for the next 15 days.
