Dimapur, Oct. 17 (EMN): Staff of the Sainik School at Punglwa in Peren district conducted what updates from the DIPR on Wednesday called “promotional lecture for entrance exam to Sainik school 2019-20.”
The program was conducted in the auditorium of the battalion headquarter in Wokha, and organised by the 28th Assam Rifles, on Oct. 16. 156 students participated in the function, the updates informed.
Registration for the academic session 2019-20 has commenced for class VI and IX, it was informed. The gathering was told the school provides state of art facilities to students to encourage and support their development and activities. The school is a fully residential institution run on the lines of a boarding school.
The school offers a common curriculum and is affiliated to CBSE. Admissions are based on entrance tests followed by interviews and medical examinations, the updates stated.
Further, the ministry of Defence, which runs 22 Sainik schools across the country, has also started examining the possibility of admitting girls at Sainik School which can be seen as the first step to allowing the entry of woman into the National Defence Academy, the updates stated.
