Dimapur, Dec. 18 (EMN): A power back-up blood storage unit, an initiative of the Wokha district administration, was inaugurated at Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital, Wokha, on December 13.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy commissioner, Wokha, Dr. Manazir J Samoon, said the administration took the initiative to procure the power back-up blood storage unit to help the people of the district. He also encouraged the officers and staff of District Hospital to make it functional as soon as possible so that the public can avail the service.
He also assured that the district administration and medical department would continue working together for new initiatives in future.
Thungdemo, president of Team Metamorphosis (NGO), thanked the district administration for the initiative and assured of the team’s readiness for voluntary blood donation to the needy patients.
Dr. Robin Lotha, CMO Wokha, expressed gratitude to the former DC Wokha, Wezope Kenye, and the ADC Thavasalem as the project was initiated during their tenure. He also thanked the HOD NEEPCO Doyang for providing blood storage refrigerator and extended his appreciation to all the well-wishers who have contributed in making the project a reality for the people of the district.
