Wokha entrepreneurs get updates on business and finance

Wokha, April 19 (EMN): A seminar on financial education for middle-income investors was held at Hotel Hornbill in Wokha on the 19th of April.

The event was an initiative of the SEBI & NISM. It was organised by the Wokha District Entrepreneurs’ Association (WDEA).

Thungjamo Odyuo, a joint director of the Rural Development department, spoke during the program. He challenged the young entrepreneurs to step forward and take risks to change the game. It is high time for the local people to prosper in ‘all kinds of business,’ he said. He encouraged them to think about employing locals and to promote one another.

During the event, the entrepreneurs were asked to contemplate about the flow and circulation of money in Wokha. It will give them insights and assist them when investing in business ventures.

Wokha being a most convenient place, located at a strategic place that can be a link, the entrepreneurs were told that the district can serve better and do better business with neighbouring districts. If the local entrepreneurs can meet the challenge, they were told, Wokha has potential in resources and connectivity.

The officer has wished the Wokha entrepreneurs’ association a bright future.

Resource person for the event, Chenio Lotha spoke about financial education, securities and Exchange Board of India. He spoke to the gathering about investments and returns in business; schemes for financial assistance and investment policies. He encouraged them saying that ‘every citizen can avail a certificate of investment with plans that depend on their capacity.’

A number of vendors besides members from the entrepreneurs’ association attended the event.
