Dimapur, July26 (EMN): The BJP Wokha district issued a statement today that the allegations of blasphemy against its secretary Ananda Narayan Mishra in social media to be false and baseless rumours.
“The held an emergency meeting regarding the rumours spreading in social media. The party opined in no way Shri. Ananda Narayan Mishra spoke, ‘Jesus cannot bring development only BJP govt will bring development’ which found to be baseless and unfounded created by vested interest trying to tarnish the good image of party” stated the press release from L. Meribemo Kinghen, the party president of Wokha district.
He also stated that the poster of the allegation in social media when contacted made a verbal apology and also wrote an apology letter addressed to the district party president that it was a mistake and owned moral responsibility.
He also appealed to all to avoid making misleading propaganda and also requested church leaders not to be misled by false rumours that was posted in social media.
