Whiskers CC to take on Diphu XI in the final

Silver Cup T20 Tournament

Kohima, March 24 (EMN): Diphu XI from Karbi Anglong, Assam and Whiskers Cricket Club, Dimapur will be clashing in the final match of the ongoing 8th Silver Cup T20- Cricket Tournament, organised by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department under the theme “Peace and Unity through Cricket” on Saturday.

The final match will be played at 10 am at Jakhama local ground, while the closing ceremony would be graced by Minister for Rural Development & REPA, C L John at 1 PM.
Meanwhile, playing the first semi-final match, Diphu XI comfortably defeated Radiant CC by 7 wickets.
After winning the toss, Diphu XI elected to bowl and managed to restrict Radiant CC for just 105 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
Radiant CC batsman Mungkham contributed 26 runs, while Diphu XI bowler Mridul took 3 wickets and Sanjiv 2 wickets.
Diphu XI managed to chase the target in 15.1 overs losing only 3 wickets.
Ishan scored 44 runs while Rahul made 39 runs. Radiant CC bowler Kechesin claimed 2 wickets. Ishan was declared the Man of the match for scoring 44 runs.
In the second semi-final, Whiskers CC Dimapur knocked down Lower Bayavü Giants by 28 runs. Whiskers CC set a target of 134 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Hokaito scored 50 runs while Jalal 27 and Jiten 15 remained unbeaten. Lower Bayavü Giants bowler Thungjamo and Sunil took 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Lower Bayavü Giants were all out in 19.1 overs scoring 105 runs. Skipper Tapitu scored 32 runs while Bicky added 20 and Ananta 13 runs. Whiskers CC bowler Jalal claimed 3 wickets, Imliwati and Shera 2 each wickets. Hokaito was adjudged the Man of the match.
