Watsu Mungdang promotes local products

(EM Images)[/caption] Mokokchung, Dec. 12 (EMN): To promote the products made by Ao women, Watsu Mungdang- the apex women organisation- has organised a festival called “Aowli Benjongmung” at Town Hall, Mokokchung, on December 12. The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Yangerla, retired principal director of Health and Family Welfare. Speaking at the inaugural event, the chief guest urged the womenfolk to maintain quality over quantity in the production of indigenous products especial in exotic Naga dishes, clothes and crafts etc. In order to make the products consumers friendly and demand driven, she urged the women to follow Food Safety and Security Act protocol as required by law. She further encouraged the women to make a mark through their products. The programme was followed by sales of food and other items made NGOs and individuals. Entertainment performances by local talents also marked the programme.
