Vocational training on vermicompost and vermiculture for rural youths conducted

Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): A vocational training of vermicompost production and vermiculture was conducted by Dr. T Esther Longkumer, ACTO (Soil Science), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Phek, Indian Council of Agricultural Research-National Research Council on Mithun at KVK, Porba from July 17 to 20th, informed a press release received here today.

During the four days training programme, topics such as soil health management, vermicompost production- its importance and benefits, vermiculture technology were discussed. The programme also discussed about procedures for making vermicompost, application doses to crops, income generation, and Vermiwash as a liquid fertilizer.

The participants were shown different types of organic fertiliser and inorganic fertilisers and its impact on soil, plant, and human health, the release added.
