Villagers reconstruct broken bridge in Tamenglong

Imphal, August (EMN): Barak Bailey Bridge at Namtiram village, 167km west of Imphal in Tamenglong district, Manipur which connects district headquarters with more than 30 villages under Tousem sub-division was reconstructed by the villagers on Saturday, reports from Tamenglong said.
Considering the grievances and suffering of the many stranded villagers who are heading to Tamenglong district headquarters and Tousem from opposite directions as there is no alternative route between two hill stations, the Namtiram villagers reconstructed the bridge under the sponsorship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district with the locally available materials such as bamboos, woods etc.
Its worth to mention here that Tamenglong district is the bamboo belt of Manipur state.
