Dimapur, Jan. 9 (EMN): Venuzo Vadeo from Porba village emerged the champion of Secheku Wrestling Association (SWA) 26th wrestling meet at Pholami village on Tuesday.
Venuzo Vadeo pocketed a cash prize of INR 80,000 while second-placed Niekhozo Keroh from Gidemi village received INR 60,000.
Hutave Sakhamo from Porba village bagged the third position and received INR 40,000.
Fourth position winner Khruto Medeo from Pholami village walked home with INR 20,000.
56 wrestlers vied for the championship.
The top four wrestlers along with eight others will represent SWA at the forthcoming Chakhesang Wrestling Association meet at Chetheba from Feb. 8 to 9.
Earlier, MLA Deo Nukhu and Vengota Nakro, Retd project director soil and water conservation Nagaland graced the meet as the chief guest and guest of honour.
