Dimapur, July 11 (EMN): State Governor and Chief Rector of Nagaland University (NU), PB Acharya, stated that Nagaland can only be strengthened by the people of the State and called upon the universities to play pro-active role towards scaling greater heights.
Acharya stated this in his address at a gratitude programme held at Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema, on July 11.

Acharya appreciated the dedication and passion of the teaching staff of NU and encouraged them to continue their duty towards building the nation. He also stated that they should time and again review their approach towards imparting knowledge to the students.

He reiterated the importance of skill courses and said that students, when they come out of the University, should be able to stand on their own. In this regard, he called for dialogue between trade, industry and educational institutions.

“One should change their mindset towards jobs. The government sector is stagnant, therefore, students should take up courses where they can stand on their own and become entrepreneurs,” the Governor added.

NU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pradeshi Lal, in his address, thanked the Governor for the constant encouragement and the efforts put in for the progress of the University.

Short speeches were also delivered by Pro-Vice Chancellor, Kohima Campus, and Prof. Rosemary Dzuvichu. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Registrar of the University.
