Mokokchung, April 7 ( EMN) : Parliamentary secretary for Information & Public Relations Imtikumzuk Longkumer has inaugurated newly-paved ‘Kosasanger Pusu Menden (village council, Ungma Impang) Okbu Lu agri-link road’ at Ungma village in Mokokchung district.
Speaking at a function marking the formal inauguration of the road at Jentisang Resort, the parliamentary secretary asked villagers to use the ‘opportunity to boost the economy’ of the village through agricultural activities. The construction of the road has made it easier for farmers to reach Mokokchung town with their products. Encouraging the gathering to cultivate cash crops through ‘scientific methods of farming,’ Aier said that the mode of approach will lessen the practice of jhum cultivation which he said contributes much to deforestation and loss of habitat for wild animals.
Further, the legislator claimed that the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government led by Chief Minister Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietzu was ‘concerned for the welfare of the state, especially the youths.’
Claiming that Dr. Liezietzu, who is one of the most senior politicians in the state, ‘cared for the welfare of the Naga people,’ Aier asserted that the DAN government was ‘doing its best to take the Nagas towards the path of peace and prosperity.’
